Mobilization to force the cancellation of a play by a well-known far-right extremist. An initiative of the Permanent Anti-Fascist Coalition (CAP - Coordinamento antifascista permanente) of which the local FdCA branch is a part.

 

Milan, 14 March: National Assembly of the Rete 28 Aprile nella CGIL

 

Assembly of 700 delegates and workers to set up an internal CGIL opposition force. FdCA union activists from Emilia and Lombardy participate.

 

Florence, 16 March: Abstentionist Assembly

 

Called by individuals and political magazines in order to propagandize the abstentionist choice at the forthcoming general election. FdCA member Pier Francesco Zarcone (FdCA-Portugal) participates in a personal capacity.

 

Pesaro (Marches), 17 March: Fundraising dinner for grassroots syndicalism

 

An initiative of the CIB Unicobas union. Local FdCA union activists participate.
 

Jesi (Marches), 21 March: Death of Cesare Tittarelli

 

Cesare Tittarelli, union activist, revolutionary and anarchist communist, dies at the age of 66. In the 1970s, he was a member of the Marches Anarchist Organization (Organizzazione Anarchica Marchigiana), playing a large part in that movement which brought together the class struggle and an organized anarchist-communist political project. An FdCA delegation participates at his funeral in Jesi on 26 March.

 

Savona (Liguria), 24 March: Death of Franco Salomone

 

Following a long illness, Franco Salomone dies. Syndicalist, revolutionary, libertarian communist and one of the best-known supporters of the rebirth of the class-struggle anarchist movement in Italy and in Europe between the 1960s and '70s, Salomone was involved in various political organizational experiences among Ligurian libertarian communists, until he joined the FdCA in 2003. He was also a leading figure in the CGIL in Liguria and Savona. The FdCA pays homage to him with a funeral on 27th March.  [more]

Organized by the Consulta delle Associazioni. Alternativa Libertaria (FdCA-Fano) has a stand at the event. The local press publishes a statement by Alternativa Libertaria criticizing the lack of social spaces in the town.

 

Pesaro (Marches), 30 March: "Nuovomondo" Annual Assembly

 

Members of the "Nuovomondo" association, both Italians and migrants, meet in assembly to decide on initiatives for the coming year. Members of the FdCA participate as members of the association's committee and of the editorial board of the association's newspaper.

The political, social and cultural forces which are part of the provincial Anti-Fascist Network present a united, militant face at this local demonstration. The FdCA's Fano/Pesaro branch participates, with distribution of a leaflet. There follows a sit-in with aperitifs offered by the Anti-Fascist Network in front of the Resistance monument.

Pesaro (Marches), 27 April: Incendiary attack on the Centro Sociale Oltrefrontiera

 

A firebomb was thrown into the CSA Oltrefrontiera, evidently by fascists, causing some damage and a small fire. Various cultural and labour associations in Pesaro, including Alternativa Libertaria (FdCA) send solidarity messages.

Franco Lattanzi, known as "Sbancor" dies. A member of the Rome Libertarian Communist Federation (Federazione Comunista Libertaria di Roma) in the early 1970s, he remained active in the movement. He was also a well-known financial analyst.
