Rome, 14-15 January: Founding Congress of the Sindacato dei Lavoratori

 

The Sindacato dei Lavoratori (SdL - Workers' Syndicate), a general trade union formed by the merger of the SULT and S.in.Cobas is formed. Simona Penco and Fabrizio Acanfora, both rail workers and members of the FdCA's "Nino Malara" branch in Genoa, are elected onto 2 of the new grassroots union's national bodies.

To commemorate the centenary of the Anarchist Congress in Amsterdam, the FdCA publishes "The International Anarchist Congress, Amsterdam 1907", as part of its English-language "Studies for a Libertarian Alternative" series. The pamphlet is an English translation of the greater part of the book "Dibattito sul sindacalismo: Atti del Congresso Internazionale anarchico di Amsterdam (1907)", edited by Maurizio Antonioli and published by CP editrice in 1978.  [more]
