Altamura (BA), 11 February: Remembering Sante Cannito


Sante Cannito

 

The FdCA participates with a talk by Donato Romito in this event, organized by local publisher "Torre di Nebbia", dedicated to the figure of the anarchist communist Sante Cannito, who died in 1994 at the age of 96. Cannito was a member of the Italo-American anarchist movement, working with the New York newspaper "Il Martello" (edited by Carlo Tresca). During the 1970s and '80s, he lived in the Italian region of Apulia and was involved with and supported the Apulian anarchist communist Revolutionary Anarchist Organization (ORA).

Florence, April: "Maccaronì & Vu Cumprà" Exhibition on Immigration

 

Exhibition held at Florence University, the Casa del Popolo di Colonnata and the Casa della Cultura-Circolo Lippi, introduced by FdCA members.

 

Verona, 29 April: 50th Anniversary of the Resistance Movement

 

Event promoted by the "La Pecora Nera” social centre. Introduced by the FdCA with a talk by Adriana Dadà on Domaschi, an anarchist communist who died in Dachau.

 

Crema (CR), 29 April: Circuiti Resistenti 1945/95

 

An anti-fascist event promoted by the National Partisans' Association of Italy (ANPI) in Piazza Trento Trieste. The FdCA participates with an exhibition on anarchists in the Resistance movement.

 

Florence, 4 May: 50th Anniversary of the Resistance Movement

 

Event organized by the Biblioteca Archivio Storico “Il ‘68” with the participation of the FdCA's Adriana Dadà speaking on “Anarchists and the policy of the single front against fascism. The Arditi del Popolo.

Ruesta (Spain): 13-20 August: International libertarian meeting

 

Organized by Alternative Libertaire (France), the first international meeting for many years of libertarian and class-struggle anarchist militants involved in political and union work. The FdCA is invited.

 

Lecce, 22 August: Meeting between the FdCA and the Gruppo Anarchico “Le Malelingue” from Lecce

 

Agreement made to further cooperation and mutual understanding.

 

Fano (PU), 24-27 August: 12th Anti-Clerical Meeting

Rocca Malatestiana

 

Organized by the Circolo Papini from Fano and by the Associazione per lo Sbattezzo. Featuring the FdCA exhibition, “Maccaronì e Vu Cumprà”.

Also taking place: a meeting of young anarchists from the Marche region (to prepare for the inter-regional convention in Reggio Emilia), including comrades from the FdCA supporter group in Fano.

Fano (PU), 4 October: Fano/Pesaro branch of the FdCA formally opened

 

Several members of the Circolo Papini in Fano make the choice for anarchist communist organization and, with the benefit of FdCA members already present in Pesaro for over ten years, open the new branch in order to establish a presence in the community and cooperate with other local libertarians. The branch is named after Nestor Makhno.

 

Molfetta (BA), 30 November: Ship To Bosnia

 

The "Havang" arrives at the port of Molfetta on its way to Split, to bring Bosnian workers the international aid gathered all over Europe by International Workers Aid, which includes grassroots unions and cultural associations. In Italy, the FdCA is the only anarchist political organization which contributes to the "Ship to Bosnia" campaign together with other libertarian, labour and social centre activists, with a container of aid for Bosnian workers in Tuzla, oppressed by the war. An FdCA delegation is present in Molfetta.
