Modena (Emilia-Romagna), 20 January: Strategic objectives in union work

Modena, 21 January: Extraordinary National Assembly of the Organizzazione Rivoluzionaria Anarchica (ORA)

Most members of the branches in Emilia and, later (1981), Campania leave the ORA. On the basis of a rigid conception of the driving role of the political organization, they immediately form the short-lived Partito Anarchico Italiano (Italian Anarchist Party), though fail to attract other ORA branches. The ORA is however forced into a period of reflection on the strategy of building a national anarchist communist organization.

Florence, 8-9 May: 1st Congress of the Unione dei Comunisti Anarchici Toscani (UCAT - Union of Tuscan Anarchist Communists)

 

  • Unification of the Gruppo Comunista Anarchico di Firenze (Florence Anarchist Communist Group) and the Organizzazione Comunista Libertaria di Lucca (Lucca Libertarian Communist Organization).
  • Strong support for the building of a national anarchist communist organization based on well-rooted areas of intervention within the community.
  • Official press: "L'Informatore di Parte" (Biased Information) in Florence and "Formazione & Informazione" (Formation & Information) in Lucca.
 

Naples (Campania), 24-25 May: 1st South-Central Italy Anarchist Convention

 

Organized by the Neapolitan Gruppo Anarchico Louise Michel (Louise Michel Anarchist Group). The ORA (southern Italy area) participates.
 

Suzzara (Lombardy), 31 May: 1st Council of Delegates of the Organizzazione Rivoluzionaria Anarchica (ORA)

Florence, 12 July: Meeting between the UCAT and the ORA

 

Relations re-established. Evaluation of the ORA's proposal to create a national network of anarchist communists.

Bologna, 2 August: Fascist massacre at Bologna Station

 

The ORA's press statement is issued by the Italian ANSA news agency. Mobilization by the local ORA branch.

 

San Marzano (Campania), 27 August: Gun attack on ORA member and CGIL union activist

 

Lorenzo Schiavone, a CGIL union activist and member of the anarchist communist ORA is shot 5 times in the legs by the local "camorra" because of his union activism among the unemployed and at the local labour exchange. The ORA issues a statement through the ANSA news agency.

Mobilization of the ORA branches in Southern Italy for the creation of anti-bureaucratic, grassroots aid networks for the benefit of victims of the earthquake.

 

Livorno (Tuscany), 6 December: Meeting between the Organizzazione Comunista Libertaria (OCL - Libertarian Communist Organization) of Livorno and the ORA
